The Australian Army Skill at Arms Meeting 2019 (AASAM19) is the Australian Defence Force’s premier service weapons shooting competition and is conducted annually at Puckapunyal Military Area (PMA) Victoria. The international component of ASSAM19 was conducted over the period 26 Mar - 02 Apr 2019, hosting competitors from Australia, New Zealand, The United States, The United Kingdom, Indonesia, France, Japan, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Tonga, The Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, The United Arab Emirates, Canada, Thailand, Brunei. Afghanistan and Sri Lanka are also attending as observer countries. Eight days of competition will test some of the world’s best soldiers on application of fire, individual battle shooting, and team battle shooting scenarios. The Australian Army will be represented by the Australian Army Combat Shooting Team (AACST), comprising the best marksmen drawn from the Army Top 20 Shots, and selected from the AASAM19 domestic competition.
