HMAS Brisbane Freedom of Entry parade
HMAS Brisbane Freedom of Entry parade (1.18 mins)
HMAS Brisbane (III) Ship’s Company (Commanding Officer Commander Josh Wilson) march for the first time through the streets of Brisbane, as part of a Freedom of Entry parade. The Freedom of Entry parade, which dates back to medieval times, recognises the strong links between Brisbane and the third Royal Australian Navy ship to bear its name. As part of the event, more than 150 officers and sailors marched through the CBD before the parade was formally challenged by the Queensland Police Superintendent.
